Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has ordered the suspension of all international flights to Vietnam amid restrictions on entry to the country by air, land and sea.

According to the VN Express, published on March 21, 2020, the restrictions are on the rise following an increase in the number of new HIV infections in the past two weeks. Of these, 24 are foreigners, and most have returned from Europe or across the country.

The Foreign Ministry and the Foreign embassy should recommend that Vietnamese living abroad should not return home if it is not needed, Fok said. He said the government would make a list of Vietnamese and foreign students who needed to go home and arrange flights for them.

"Everyone who enters Vietnam must be strictly quarantined and violators will be punished severely," added Mr Fox during a meeting on Friday.

Vietnam has also suspended visas for all foreign arrivals starting on Wednesday and requires all to be quarantined for two weeks starting on Saturday.
