At the invitation of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 12 Cambodian students from seven universities, along with students from ASEAN and Timor-Leste, will visit Japan from 8th to present day. February 18, 2020, under the Japan Student and Youth Exchange Program (JENESYS), 2019.



According to a press release from the Japanese Embassy in Cambodia, this information was received by the Cambodian Embassy in Phnom Penh on February 7, 2020.

Delegates will be divided into five groups on topics such as: 1- tourism and sustainable tourism development, 2- migrant workers, 3- quality education, 4- waste. Food and, 5 – Understanding Disaster Risk Reduction.

The Japanese ambassador added that they will deepen their understanding of each issue through discussions, attending seminars hosted by specialists, and visiting with visiting delegates from ASEAN and Japan. They will also have the opportunity to experience Japanese culture.

Please note that the JENESYS program aims to promote mutual understanding and trust among the Japanese people and the participating countries and to build a foundation of future cooperation and friendship. Japanese expatriates have invited over 2100 Cambodian youth since 2007. By Eng Bucheng
