The Taliban reportedly said it would release the first 20 prisoners in an attempt to start an Afghan peace talks between the militants and the government in Kabul.

Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen posted a message on Twitter on Sunday that 20 of Kabul's inmates will be released today and they will be handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Kandahar city.
