South Korea's overall industrial output fell 0.3 percent in March from a month earlier as widespread pandemics affected exports and private consumption, data showed Wednesday.

However, data compiled by Korea Statistics show that industrial production, mining, gas and electricity production increased by 4.6% compared to the previous month.

A year earlier, overall industrial output also increased 0.6 percent, but service output declined 4.4 percent, the most since the agency began compiling data in 2000.
