SEOUL – South Korea Airlines is expected to suffer significant losses from the coronavirus infection, which has slowed demand for international air travel.

The Korean Civil Aviation Association recently estimated that the regional aviation industry's losses from the rapidly expanding epidemic could drop to more than 5 trillion won ($ 4.2 billion) by June, due to a slowdown. Air travel demand is down.

The estimate is based on the number of passengers for South Korea's international flights in the fourth week of February, due to the country having been hit hard by the coronavirus. By: Chhouk Bora
