SEOUL: Increasing number of Coronavirus infections in the country are beginning to cause a severe shortage of medical staff, with labor shortages becoming a problem in difficult areas.

The fatigue among medical staff is acute in hospitals assigned to treat patients with sepsis.

The large number of patients in Daegu, 300 km southeast of Seoul, and around North Gyeongsang province, the epicenter of the virus outbreak in South Korea, have exacerbated the problem.

After reporting its first outbreak on January 20, the total number of cases rose to 4,412 as of Monday morning, with the death toll rising to 22. By: Chhouk Bora
