SEOUL – Samsung Electronics said Wednesday it has shut down a washing machine factory in the United States due to the effects of the Kov-19 pandemic.

Company sources said it would suspend operations of its home appliance manufacturing facility in Newbury County, South Carolina, until April 19 to protect its workers from infection with the Kov-19 virus.

The latest announcement comes just two days after the factory reopened following a temporary shutdown.

The factory, which produces about one million laundry machines a year, was shut down from Friday to Sunday after two workers there tested positive for the HIV-19 virus.
