Peru has reported 3,481 new cases of cholera in 19 months, the Ministry of Health said on Saturday, July 6, 2020. In the past 24 hours, the total number of cases has risen to 299,080.
The ministry said the death toll from the disease in the country has risen to 10,412, adding that a total of 11,273 hospitalizations were recorded.
The government extended the state of emergency until July 31, but lifted a ban on monitoring and subsequent measures in all but seven regions in the country. Translated by: Mao Bopha January
