Svay Rieng: On July 11, 2020, a suspected transnational drug trafficker, a Vietnamese national, with 11 kilograms of methamphetamine and ketamine, was arrested by the Anti-Drug Task Force of Svay Rieng Provincial Police. Referred to the Provincial Prosecutor's Office for legal action.
According to the Svay Rieng Provincial Police, in accordance with the high order of the General of the National Police and the guidance of General Mak Chito, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of National Police's anti-drug crime plan. Police said that on July 08, 2020 at 22.30 between border post 169-170 located in Bavet Kandal village, Bavet commune, Bavet city, Svay Rieng province, Bavet City Police Inspectorate in cooperation with the Anti-Drug Bureau. The provincial drug gang launched an operation to investigate and crack down on cross-border drug trafficking cases by arresting a suspect named Nguyen Hong Pok, a Vietnamese national, and confiscating 11 large drug exhibits weighing 11 kilograms (including shells). A motorcycle and methamphetamine were seized while the suspects were smuggling drugs across the border into Vietnam.
