A suspect has been arrested in connection with the distribution of pornographic images and videos on Facebook and Telegram, according to the anti-technology department.
Directed by Gen. Neth Savoeun, the Commissar General of the National Police, the Anti-Crime Division has conducted a search and investigation until the arrest of a man on March 3, 2020 under direct supervision. Lt-Gen Chea Pov, director of the department, and moderated by the prosecutor, Keo Sothea Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
The suspect, 18-year-old Kang Theara, has admitted that in early January 2020, he had set up a fake Facebook and Telegram account to act, store, and distribute child pornography. And foreign business in Facebook and Telegram for the purpose of generating revenue by attracting visitors. And sell them, and the sources themselves download from social media.
The suspect is currently being referred to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for legal action.
Currently, there are opportunists creating Group Chat and Channel Telegram to distribute child pornography and, at times, serious child pornography.
